When I first heard this audio and arrived at the judgment scenes of the five friends, I was on my face in front of God asking for mercy to endure to the end.

I was absolutely terrified with the fear of the Lord…I can’t ever remember being so frightened, then or since.

The Final Judgment of Jesus on our whole life…an extremely sobering thought. Jesus proclaimed every action, every deed, and…every thought…would come up before Him in a test of fire. The only exception would be those sins remembered no more previous to initial salvation. Unless, of course, we fall away from the faith then the last state is worse than the first. He who endures to the very end will be saved from the wrath to come.

His holy Word talks about “the great and terrible day of the Lord.”

One of the most successful schemes of evil Satan against all humans, especially church goers, is the lie there’s no judgment of our whole life by King Jesus. How many messages, if any, have you ever heard warning, admonishing, and exhorting believers that every word and deed will be revealed at the judgment seat of Jesus Christ?

See then how Satan deceives the masses…and the leaders of God’s children worldwide. What is the best single Scripture to illustrate this great truth?

 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. Therefore, knowing the fear (terror) of the Lord, we persuade men… 2 Corinthians 5:10-11 (NASB)

LESSONS FROM THE LAND – PART 1 [FROM MY HEART TO YOURS 4]

This is from Chapter 2 of a book that I started several years ago. It is a series of Life Lessons that the Lord has taught me using the metaphors of daily life experiences.  The first chapter was Lessons from the Lane.  I have divided this chapter into 3 parts for easier reading.    (Since it is a bit lengthy, you may want to print it out for easier reading.)

Lessons from the Land – Introduction:

I’ve come from a line of gardeners – some from necessity – some from love of it – some from both.  One of the many things I’ve always admired about the Lord Jesus was the way He taught the principles of Heaven from practical, everyday objects.  Throughout my years of puttering in my various gardens in the different places I’ve lived, the Lord has been teaching me lessons of a spiritual nature from His natural design.

I had the opportunity to take a “Master Gardener Course” from our local university a few years ago.  Each day as I listened in class to explanations of how the chemistry of the elements and the soils and plants and even insects interfaced, I grew more and more appreciative of His wonderful designs and more aware of spiritual parallels.

Some of Jesus’ most powerful teachings involved parables about the land – the 4 types of soils, grains of wheat, mustard seeds, tares, etc.  Someone once said that what we see in the natural defines what we can’t see of the spiritual.

One of the best delights of a gardener is a lush, abundant healthy crop of whatever… the bane of every type of garden are the weeds, diseases and pests. Read the rest of this entry »

Few people in Christendom can stir the depths of our heart like Tony Campolo. I know, I know. He’s not orthodox anymore, especially when it comes to homosexuality and other fringe cults like the Mormons.

But…this is worthy of every minute in the next hour as you carefully listen. The west, and  America in particular, sucks the life out of young people who confess Christ and begin the journey. The religious system prostitutes them to become more of the same.

Enough! Let us all help them “fight the good fight.”

THE DAY YOUR DAD DIES [DEAR BRETHREN 7]

Dear brethren,

Some of you are wondering about us here on the sudden death of my dad.

Some of you, also, have tasted grief and sorrow amongst the Lord’s mercies even in the face of death yourself or that of a loved one…or even a parent. In the West, most of us are ill prepared for the end of mortal life, a necessary part of eternal life.

The mobile phone custom ringtone from the song “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee” blared out the announcement that a special call was coming in later Tuesday afternoon that week. I suspected it was my wife, Sandy.

My hands were full of groceries taken from the cart at Costco. I think I had a bag of pecans in one hand and a gallon of OJ in the other at that very time. They were shuffled quickly into the empty cardboard boxes on the floor of my white and blue GMC conversion van. As usual, I was behind schedule.

The phone continued to play the ringtone as I hurried. Both the cart and I were wedged in the tiny space between my van and the SUV parked to my left. Being irritated that I hadn’t done a better job pulling between the lines, I commandeered the iphone out of the Otter Box and glanced at the screen with my Dad and Mom’s picture that was tied to their contact record.

The name on the call declared “Shirlee White,” and the time was 4:34. The call was originating from her mobile handset, which she disliked and hardly ever used.

Strange, I mused. My Mom normally doesn’t call during business hours as she is very sensitive to our work schedule of running our small digital marketing and consulting firm. And from the mobile phone, not the home phone. I’ll finish here and call her right back, was my next decision. The phone quit ringing. I tried to force my mind to go blank.

It didn’t work.

WHY PEOPLE RESIST THE TRUTH: VIDEO [AT THE BATTLE FRONT 94]

Saints and seekers of God,

When some event, statement, or person shows up and traumatizes our comfortable life and view of how the world works, what will we do in response? What, indeed, would Jesus have us to do?

This is a profound short video on how we human beings react to this sort of trauma. In one of three ways these professional counselors show us what road we can take as: 1. Seekers (empiricists, “I need to see if this is true”), or 2. Stonewallers (world view is set and closed off, “There’s no way this can be true”), or 3. Wishful Thinkers (fear paralyzes any consideration, “I don’t want to know about this”).

Will we deny God’s Son and His Holy Spirit His rightful place of all truth, and helping others caught in the world’s web of lies? Are we cowards like Revelation describes, or courageous like the saints who inherit eternal life?

Our eternal existence hangs in the balance….

Be careful…if you’re a #3 Wishful Thinker, you’ll be tempted to ignore this request to view the video and blow it off – don’t. You need to see this and find out a way to embrace God’s way of using the traumas in our life to make you just like Jesus.
