Many years ago the Holy Spirit led me to the faith Resolutions of a serious soldier of the Lord who lived in America in the 1700’s. The brother? Jonathan Edwards, the prolific author and preacher during the Great Awakening.
I would return to them from time to time and refresh myself in this man’s great attempt to describe in the 1720’s his holy aspirations in Christ. Even in the verbose and archaic early colonial English, their message moved me and others who take the time to digest them.
Finally, the Spirit spoke distinctly to draft my own Resolutions to proclaim to my disciples, and to insure that I pray, review, and live them routinely as I head toward the end of my earthly life. [Read more…]
